Special Medical Clinic

A special Medical Clinic for the residents and staff of Valelevu Hart Home was held on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at the Sai Sanjeevani Medical Centre. This clinic was done as part of the ‘Health on Wheels’ project of Sai Prema Foundation Fiji. Each month, volunteers of ‘Health on Wheels’ outreach program either go out to rural villages or bring people from institutions to the medical centre for free medical service.

This time, a bus was arranged to bring the residents and staff of Valelevu Hart Home to the Sanjeevani Medical Centre for a dedicated clinic offered by the medical centre staff and One Fiji volunteers.

Services that were available on that day to Valelevu Hart Home residents and staff included:

  1. Health Screening by the nurses, laboratory and medical students from University of Fiji and Fiji National University.

  2. General Medical Consultations by Senior Physicians, General Practitioners and Medical Officers from Fiji Ministry of Health & Medical Services.

Sereima Ratu, the matron of Valelevu Hart Home commended the volunteers for offering free and quality services to all of them. It was their first visit to Sai Sanjeevani Medical Centre. They were impressed with the facilities and also the loving service provided to them. Ms. Ratu also mentioned that the residents enjoyed their bus ride to and from the medical centre in Nasese. It was exciting for them to be away from home in a new environment. Also, they enjoyed a sumptuous meal which was offered to them after their visit to the clinic. They were all very grateful!
