Vishakapatnam
On the occasion of Children’s Day, Sri Sathya Sai AnnapoornaTrust launched its flagship breakfast programme in Vishakhapatnam (India east coast). With this launch in Vishakapatnam (Vizag), Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust will now be serving breakfast to over 10,000 school going children in the rural schools of Vizag.
On this regard, a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) event was conducted on November 14, 2017 evening. Speaking on the occasion, Sri Ganta Srinivasa Rao, Minister of Human Resource Development, State of Andhra Pradesh, offered his support to implement the breakfast programme in the entire Visakhapatnam district in coming years.
Urging everyone to join hands with this breakfast service initiative, the Visakhapatnam Port Trust Chairman, Sri M.T.Krishna Babu promised to initiate CSR activity with the members of Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust.
“We all need to join hands with Annapoorna as it gives us the platform to contribute to the next generation children”, said Sri Sai Kumar, the veteran actor while addressing the gathering on the occasion.
Speaking to media after the formal inauguration of the Annapoorna Breakfast Programme in Vizag on the 16th of November, the State HRD Minister, Sri Ganta Srinivasa Rao pledged his Government’s support for the initiative. “Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust, Muddenahalli has started the pilot project of serving breakfast in over 200 Government schools reaching more than 12, 000 primary school children. Many children come to school on an empty stomach and without any breakfast how can we expect them to study well! These children come from a poor background and hence they don't have any breakfast. We will start this programme with schools around Bhimli, Pedagantayada and Chinagadili and slowly expand to other areas as well. My idea is to expand this service to one lakh children in the coming months and then expand it to the entire state, if this model succeeds. Many like-minded individuals/NGO's (non-government organisations) such as Annaporna Trust have to come forward to make this noble initiative a grand success and the next generation, our children, healthier in mind and body. And for the success of this programme, our Government will provide all the support and might that's required.”
Oracle Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

Karma Yoga has been the path laid by Swami to reach the divine. Swami prescribes selfless acts as the direction towards godhood. He continues to beseech His followers to walk on this path, for a faster redemption of themselves. Following His doctrine, the entire Sai youth who attended the World Youth Meet 2017, went on to be part of Grama Seva. At daybreak On the November 22, 2017, two groups embarked on the road to Seva after seeking Bhagawan’s blessings. The first group of delegates and devotees served sweets to 30 schools under Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust’s breakfast service initiative. The second group offered sweets, food and clothes to ten villages.
Testimonial from a headmaster of a school under Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Breakfast Initiative
Puttathimmanahalli is a village located 65 kilometres away from Bangalore. It is a rustic village with a school composed of two teachers, two cooks and 42 lovely children. The following is the testimonial from Sri Govindaraju, Headmaster of Puttathimmanahalli:
“Ever since Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust began serving breakfast in our school, the attendance has consistently been at 100%. The children started coming in to school at the required time and maintain discipline throughout. Previously, there were many days where children would skip the morning classes. It is safe to say that those days are far behind us.
The children have also begun taking greater interest in both their personal health as well as the health of their peers. The incidence of children skipping classes citing health reasons has dropped drastically.
The staff and cooks here in our school have since shown much greater interest in the holistic development of our students. Not just the staff, but even the parents have taken a much greater interest and are highly keen on ensuring that the children are at school on time and in good spirits. The previous discussions of inconsistent attendance has become non-existence ever since breakfast started being served in our school. This has allowed the teachers to focus on teaching and other school activities. The positive responses from the parents further adds to the development of the children.
It is heartwarming to see the devotion of our children as they partake the nutritious and tasty breakfast. Annapoorna, which began serving milk along with bananas in the initial days, has since moved onto serving solid breakfast."
The Breakfast Service initiative from Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust, which was started by the Grace of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, has spread across our District, helping many poor children. Let this Grace of Bhagawan guide us all. Let the Grace of Swami feed many hungry children through this noble initiative. Let the children who are being benefited through this noble initiative become better in studies, discipline and spirituality. Let the children become noble and able, in turn leading our country forward. I pray to Bhagawan Sathya Sai Baba for His Grace and Benevolence.
