Grocery kits for daily wage workers in Avadi, Chennai:
Annapoorna collaborated with Danirasa Foundation to provide groceries to daily wage workers in Avadi, Chennai, in order to help them during the nationwide lockdown.
Hon. Minister for Tamil language, Tamil culture and Archaeology, Government of Tamil Nadu, Thiru K. Pandiarajan (Ma Foi K. Pandiarajan) was present and distributed groceries to the needy families. About 548 families who are dependent on daily wages and are unable to earn their livelihood during the lockdown, benefitted from this distribution.

Meals for migrant workers in Chennai – Week 1:
In order to help migrant workers in Chennai during the nationwide lockdown, Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust along with Danirasa Foundation in conjunction with a Tamil Nadu State Government initiative (Mafoi Foundation) is serving a simple, packed, hot lunch for them.
• At present, 1,500 workers are being served
• Annapoorna kitchen at Chennai has the capacity to feed 5,000 workers
• The lunch that is provided consists of rice and vegetables cooked under fully hygienic conditions, using protective gear
• This is carried out under strict government supervision and licenced as an essential service to operate in tough times as these.
