April 23, 2020: 350 Residents of Whitefield Slums Provided with Meals

Annapoorna volunteers in Whitefield reached out to 350 people from underprivileged pockets in the area and served them meal packets comprising vegetable rice and curd rice. The volunteers went to slums and huts in Kundalahalli and Tubharahalli areas of Bengaluru to distribute the food packets. Bengaluru city municipality workers such as sanitation workers and some maintenance workers of PFS apartment complex in the area were also provided with meal packets.

During the entire distribution across centres, the volunteers advised all the recipients about social distancing and basic hygiene.

May 4, 2020: Second Round of COVID-19 Relief for Whitefield Slums

The Annapoorna volunteers in Whitefield, Bengaluru, reached out with a second installment of relief materials to help the needy migrant slum dwellers during the extended lockdown.

The volunteers served about 170 families with provisions such as rice, lentils (dal), oil, ragi (finger millet), salt, soaps and more. All these families are of migrant workers, living in slums near Kundalahalli and Tubharahalli areas who are unable to earn their daily wages currently. As always, social distancing norms were fully adhered to.

Ramanagara District, Karnataka

 

Annapoorna volunteers distributed 55 relief kits in Vaddarahalli , Ramanagara district. 60 relief kits were also distributed in Iruligara doddi village, Channapatna taluk, Ramanagara district. Mr Srinivas, Deputy director of social welfare dept, Ramanagara was also present during the distribution.

May 2, 2020: Distribution of 1,000 Relief Kits in Ramanagara District

The 1,000 relief kits which were earlier handed over to the Chief Executive Officer’s office at Ramanagara were distributed to needy families in Ramanagara and Kanakapura by Annapoorna volunteers. During the distribution, Srinivas, Deputy Director of the Department of Social Welfare and Jayprakash, Assistant Director of Kanakapura were present.

April 29, 2020: Relief Kits for 1,000 Families in Ramanagara District

Annapoorna Trust, in collaboration with Prashanthi Bala Mandira Trust has provided 1,000 relief kits on the request of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ramanagara District in Karnataka, Mr. Mohammed Ikram. These kits contain groceries that are expected to last a family for a month. 

The relief kits which have been handed over at the CEO’s office in Ramanagara, would be further distributed to 1,000 needy families in the district to help them during the ongoing COVID-19 lockdown.

Bantwal in Dakshina Kannada, Karnataka

April 15, 2020: Distribution of Food Essentials to 80 Families in Siddakatte, Bantwal

Annapoorna volunteers in Siddakatte distributed food essentials to 80 families.  Each family was given one kg Avalakki (flattened Rice), half kg rava, required amount of Cooking oil, hesarubele (green gram), saasive (poppy seeds). As the parents arrived for the distribution, they were seated in a room with a distance of three feet between one another. After that, the ingredients were distributed to them in an orderly way. Vice President of the School Development Branch, Umesh Gouda and the Sthaleeya Grama Panchayat praised and thanked Sri Annapoorna Trust. Distributing the ingredients was very helpful for the people in the locality (sthaleeya).

Relief Activity in Kanyana and Chandalike, Bantwal

Annapoorna team in Bantwal Taluk in Dakshina Kannada District distributed food grain ingredients to needy 180 families.

The food grains were distributed in Kanyana and Chandalike village Government Schools which are a part of Annapoorna breakfast programme.
