May 1, 2020: 1,200 Bottles of Drinking Water for Ram Koti hospital
Annapoorna team in Hyderabad was informed about a shortage in drinking water at the Ram Koti Hospital in the city. The team got into quick action and provided 100 cartons of drinking water, which translates to about 1,200 bottles of drinking water. Needless to explain, drinking water is especially important for the patients in isolation wards, suffering from infectious diseases including COVID-19. During the lockdown, such a timely distribution is very crucial for patients and workers at the hospital.
April 30, 2020: Many needy brahmin families in Hyderabad are finding it hard to make ends meet during this time of lockdown. Annapoorna volunteers in collaboration with Sri Sathya Sai Srujala Sravanthi trust distributed groceries to many such needy brahmin families.
May 1, 2020: Annapoorna volunteers in Hyderabad distributed masks to many labourers and poor people on the roadside.
April 26, 2020: Relief for 60 Migrant Workers’ Families in Hyderabad
Annapoorna team identified and reached out to 60 migrant workers’ families to provide grocery and vegetables. Each family was provided with rice, lentils (dal), sugar, tea powder, oil, pulses, turmeric and chilli powder along with potatoes, tomatoes and onions. The grocery kit provided to each family by Annapoorna team (in collaboration with Prashanthi Bala Mandira Trust) is expected to suffice for the next 10 days.
The distribution took place at Shankarnagar, Peerzadiguda and Boduppal bus depot area in Hyderabad city. The migrant workers’ families are from Srikakulam in Andhra Pradesh and are unable to make ends meet during the current Covid-19 nationwide lockdown.
Buddha Nagar in Hyderabad, Telangana
April 23, 2020: 17 Migrant Workers’ Families in Buddha Nagar Receive Groceries
Annapoorna team in Hyderabad reached out to 17 needy families belonging to migrant workers in Buddha Nagar. These families are unable to avail Government relief since they do not have ration cards.
In order to help these families during the current lockdown, Annapoorna in collaboration with Prashanthi Bala Mandira Trust distributed groceries comprising of 15 kg rice, 2 kg onions, 2 kg tomatoes, 1 litre of oil, 1 kg Toor dal, 1 kg salt along with chilli powder and turmeric powder.
April 21, 2020: Food Kits for Migrant Workers in Hyderabad
Annapoorna in collaboration with Prashanthi Bala Mandir Trust, Muddenahalli reached out to migrant workers’ families in Ibrahim Nagar in Hyderabad to help them during the ongoing nationwide lockdown.
Annapoorna team in Hyderabad had received calls to bring relief materials to migrant workers in Ibrahim Nagar at Banjara hills in Hyderabad. The migrant workers, due to lack of daily wages, were not able to eat for a few days.
Each kit provided for a family consisted of 25 kg rice, 6 kg onions, 2 kg tomatoes, 1 litre oil, 1 kg toor dal, 1 kg of sugar, 1 kg salt along with chilli powder and turmeric powder.
King Koti Hospital, Hyderabad
April 17, 2020: 100 cartons of drinking water for King Koti Hospital
Annapoorna team was apprised about a shortage of drinking water in the hospital at King Koti area in Hyderabad. The team quickly sprang into action and provided the hospital with 100 cartons of bottled drinking water, to help them overcome the paucity; especially during the critical lockdown period. This is especially important for the isolation ward patients, who suffer from infectious diseases.
Kudos to the team for the swift action!
April 15, 2020: Daily Meal Distribution and Grocery Distribution in Hyderabad
From April 8, 2020, for eight days, the Annapoorna team in Hyderabad cooked and distributed hot meals for the needy, homeless and the hungry.
The team has also reached out to other needy centres like orphanages and helped them with food grains and other groceries.
The Telangana team across various districts, including the Hyderabad team, have already distributed groceries to parents of children studying in all the Government Schools that are a part of the Annapoorna Breakfast Programme.
Kudos to the Hyderabad team for its selfless efforts to serve the hungry in times of need such as the lockdown!
Singaram Village, Hyderabad
60 cows in one of the Goshalas near the Singaram Village, Hyderabad did not have grass to eat. Annapoorna volunteers from the Annapoorna Trust gathered grass and handed it over to the Goshala!
