April 30, 2020: Relief Activity in 10 villages in Vizianagaram District

Annapoorna team in Vizianagaram District have so far provided daily essentials to 163 needy families across 10 villages in Vizianagaram District in Andhra Pradesh. The families that were provided with the relief materials are needy and unable to make ends meet during the COVID-19 lockdown.

The villages visited were Gangubudi, Srirampuram, JDValasa, Banadhi, Kothapalem, Mallivedu, Kantakapalli, VVPalem, Dungada and Pedda Dungada.

Ananthapur, Andhra Pradesh

April 26, 2020: Daily Essentials for Needy Families in Ananthapur

Annapoorna in collaboration with Prashanthi Bala Mandira Trust, Muddenahalli has been, throughout the lockdown, distributing daily essentials to needy families across various States and Districts.

Annapoorna volunteer and a student of the Sri Sathya Sai Loka Seva Group of Institutions who is now staying in her village in Ananthapur, located nine needy families, including the homeless and specially challenged people, and distributed daily essentials among them.

Nellore, Andhra Pradesh

April 22, 2020: Groceries for 44 Needy Families in Nellore

Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust in collaboration with Prashanthi Bala Mandira Trust has helped distribute groceries for 44 needy families in Aravapalem in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh State. The volunteers took the help of a teacher to locate needy families in the area, so that they could benefit during this lockdown when families dependent on daily wages are unable to make ends meet.

April 21, 2020: Daily Essentials Distribution in Nellore

Nellore district in Andhra Pradesh is marked as a red zone based on COVID-19 infection, thereby leading to highly restricted movement during the lockdown period. As movement is allowed for a short time slot of two hours, between 7am and 9am, Annapoorna team in collaboration with Prashanthi Bala Mandira Trust, Muddenahalli distributed daily groceries to about 80 needy families over three days.

Vizag Airport, Andhra Pradesh

April 21, 2020: Relief Material for 400 Contract Employees of Vizag Airport

About 400 contract employees of Visakhapatnam Airport were provided with provisions by Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust in collaboration with Prashanthi Bala Mandira Trust, Muddenahalli. The employees of the Vizag Airport came forward to arrange for rice and atta (flour) and they sought Annapoorna’s support to provide other provisions and groceries.

The contract employees, who are now without wages in the current lockdown, have conveyed their gratitude for the timely help. The distribution was conducted smoothly with all the necessary safety measures.

Addanki Mandal in Prakasam District,

Andhra Pradesh

April 20, 2020: 180 Needy Families Located and Provided Relief Material in Addanki Mandal in Andhra Pradesh

Annapoorna team took the help of six teachers from five different rural Government Schools to trace needy families in Addanki Mandal in Prakasam district in Andhra Pradesh, in order to provide them with relief material during the ongoing nationwide lockdown.

The headmaster of Thimmayapalem Goverment School, Sri Sarvesvara Rao took the lead and with the help of five teachers of various schools, helped Annapoorna team reach out to about 180 needy families in the surrounding areas.

Annapoorna thanks Sri Sarvesvara Rao, and the teachers Sri Baburao, Sri Amara Srinivasa Rao, Sri Gangadhar, Sri Ramarao and Sri Ramaiah for their selfless efforts that resulted in benefitting the needy students’ families!
