Noida, Uttar Pradesh

Loving outreach of Noida volunteers to needy families – Week 1:

Annapoorna regularly serves breakfast at two government schools in Hoshiarpur village in Noida in Uttar Pradesh. Due to the current nationwide lockdown that was announced to tackle the menace of COVID-19, the children who are from poor and needy families might not have access to enough food to satiate their hunger. Thus, Annapoorna volunteers at Noida decided to extend their support to the needy families of children studying at Hoshiarpur Village Government Schools. The volunteers reached out to the Head Mistresses of both the schools and asked them to help identify families of daily wagers as well as those who are undergoing major scarcity in these times.

About 20 families have been handed over “Sudama ki Potli (Krishna’s friend, Sudama’s bundle)” which contained groceries comprising 10 kg Atta (flour), 2 kg Rice, 2 kg Dal, 2 kg Sugar, Oil, Salt and Tea. More families, looking for similar support are being identified. Local people from various parts of Noida have come forward to support these ‘Sudama ki Potli’s.

The Noida volunteers express their immense gratitude to the local community for showering their love and support to Annapoorna!
