Ganges Of Pure Selfless Love

The first half of 2018 flew by swiftly, marked by a significant expansion in Seva opportunities across the country. Also, this period saw various activities catching the public and corporate eye. Annapoorna, with an express mission to ‘Let no Child Go to School Hungry Ever’ made strong strides in its flagship breakfast programme and has currently reached out to over 110,000 needy school-going children across more than 1600 centres spanning 16 states and 1 Union Territory. With Bhagawan’s Grace, as of date, 20 Million breakfast meals have been served - a significant milestone!

 

Annapoorna also used its presence in needy villages to expand its footprint, to bring about rural-uplift through a number of other projects. They set up reverse osmosis (RO) plants in 12 villages and about 30,000 villagers now have access to free, clean drinking water daily. Annapoorna was also instrumental in having 13,000 rural children undergo medical screening for health defects. To help the rural cause, Annapoorna conducted ‘Integrated Rural Development’ course in two professional institutes comprising of more than 300 students.

 

Annapoorna’s social cause has been successfully audited by a social audit team firm and their social impact has been assessed with a strong ‘Social Return of Investment’ of 1.89! Further, the Government of Karnataka signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Annapoorna, to help the latter further their social cause in the state. Around 15 corporate companies were involved in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) drives with Annapoorna.

 

The Divine Mother and Child Health Programme which helps mothers with quality ante-natal care, has helped more than 9200 pregnant women. It has screened over 26,000 Government Schools and Anganwadi (Public Health Care System) children for early detection and intervention. The programme, with the able support of 50 highly skilled doctors and over a 100 volunteers, is now present in four states in the country.
