Service in Indonesia

Youth from the Sai Pooja Ashram in Indonesia held a Balvikas learning program on the 11th of December 2016. This was a fortnightly program held on Sundays. All students from the ashram were gathered and the activity started with meditation lead by the youth. This was followed by Bhajans, whereby the Bal Vikas students were encouraged to sing. After Bhajans, the program continued with Sai Values studies and an English learning program.

In the Sai values studies, students were taught several values related to Sai Baba’s teachings. The values such as Sathya(truth), Dharma(Right conduct), Shanti(Peace), Prema(Love) and Ahimsa (Non-violence) were incorporated into games and stories to make it more attractive and interesting to the young ones.  Students were also asked on how they could practice Swami’s values in their daily life so that they were aware of the practical application of their knowledge.

During the English session, an effort was made to improve and expand the student’s vocabulary. This was done in the form of games and quizzes. The students were also encouraged to speak in English, and to form simple conversation amongst each other. This was done to help build their confidence in conversing in the English language, which is very important worldwide. At the end of the session, students joined for Aarti and finally, everybody enjoyed lunch prepared by the ladies.
