On December 10, 2017 youth from Pooja Sai Ashram continued with their monthly medical care under Swami’s Divine Mother and Child Health Care programme. This month the medical care was conducted at Tegal Mengkeb, Tabanan Distric. Tegal mengkeb, located in the western part of Bali, which is famous for its vast rice fields and its close proximity to the western beaches of Bali.

 

After a brief preparation from our Ashram, the team headed directly from Denpasar to Tegal Mengkeb. The terrain was accessible, but still challenging. The weather was against us at the time, it had been raining since our departure. Fortunately, by the time the medical care started, Swami has blessed us with calm weather.

 

By the time the team had arrived, many people had already gathered at the venue. Most patients were elderly people from around the village, but many young children also joined them. The programme started with an announcement from the village leader. People where then registered and examined accordingly. There were two doctors and two nurses in the medical team. They were responsible for basic general examination and treatment. Patients who needed further medical attention were referred. The youth were responsible for managing the crowd and organizing the mass in such a way that the examinations could occur smoothly. Children who attended the medical programme were given drawing sessions and play time. They were also provided with milk and snacks.
