Foundation for Development of Human Excellence

Chihuahua, México

Service activities were carried out in Mexico during the month of October, 2020.

The COVID-19 pandemic has interfered with some activities, but has not diminished the desire to serve, and the obstacles have been overcome, thanks to teamwork!

Seva: Food Service

During the second week of October, the State Government reduced the restrictions imposed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Service Group took advantage of the opportunity to deliver 102 packages of basic staples. Due to the prohibition of serving hot meals in the dining hall still being in force, the Group decided to make “tortas” (sándwiches) along with bags containing 12 Sampas for the adults and six Sampas for the children.

Unfortunately, the following week the Government re-established the restrictions due to COVID-19 infections and again suspended the delivery of tortas and Sampa.

Seva: Musical - Devotional

During the month of October, the Mexican International Chorus filmed a video with songs popular in Mexico and Latin America as an offering to Swami for His Birthday. The songs consisted of nine melodies divided into three parts. The video was filmed in two segments. The first was made in the City of Chihuahua and the second was filmed by the participants in their countries of origin: El Salvador, Guatemala, Colombia, Chile and Argentina, as well as five other cities in Mexico:  San José del Cabo, Mexico City, Guadalajara, Huamantla and Pachuca.

Seva: Education

The translation to Spanish of the Teacher´s Manual written by Suwanti and Ron Farmer has been completed.

Additionally the group is continuing its collaboration in translating the modules from the Hope Collaborative Leadership Program.

Project 1x1x365

In the face of growing inequality between people who have all their nutritional needs covered and those who do not; it was decided to begin a new project as Seva in the food distribution area. The youth group is working on its implementation. Below are the logos and posters that were designed.
