Seva Activity by Youth in Fremont, California
“There are people in the world so hungry, that God cannot appear to them except in the form of bread.” – Mahatma Gandhi
Full of excitement, the youth and children got together for the monthly homeless feeding Seva on the third Sunday of October. A total of 158 sandwiches were prepared to make a small difference to the homeless people of Oakland, California.
The sandwiches were served across three different homeless shelters in Oakland. Each meal consisted of a vegetable or peanut butter-jelly sandwich, a banana and a juice packet.

The parents and children gathered enjoyed the whole process and put in extra effort to make 50 more sandwiches than usual, so that the extra sandwiches could be distributed to more homeless people on the streets. It was very inspiring to see the whole group take charge and get involved in the sandwich preparation, packing and distribution with zeal and passion.
It was a touching experience to see the glow in the eyes of homeless brothers and sisters when they received the meal packs. They conveyed their happiness and blessings. All the youth and children felt blessed to get an opportunity to serve the hungry.
Food distributed at tiny-home shelters and on the streets:
