Food Distribution in Oakland, California
“If you can’t feed a hundred people, then feed just one.” - Mother Teresa
Continuing with their tradition of meeting every third Sunday to prepare sandwiches, the youth of Fremont met once again in November to prepare sandwiches and serve it to the homeless people of Oakland in California.
The youth and children prepared 120 sandwiches to be served across three different homeless shelters in Oakland, California. Each meal consisted of a vegetable or peanut butter-jelly sandwich, a banana and a juice packet.

Additionally, the parents and children prepared an extra 38 sandwiches and brown bagged them to be distributed to the homeless people that are spending their time on the streets and not at one of the homeless shelters. It was very inspiring to see the whole group take charge and get involved in the sandwich preparation, packing and distribution with zeal and passion.
It was a touching experience to see the glow in the eyes of homeless brothers and sisters when they received the meal packs. They conveyed their happiness and blessings, all youth and children felt blessed to get an opportunity to serve the hungry!
