Medical Screening
A medical screening was arranged at the Educare Centre in Kirankulam on Saturday the March 10, 2018. The screening was originally planned as a half day programme but, it became a whole day programme as the dedicated doctors that were involved were very keen to carry out a thorough medical screening on each and every student who attended. The following doctors were in the screening team:
Dr Mohanasundaram Ahilen (Consultant Physician)
Dr Muthulingam Thushyanthan Medical Officer - Eye
Dr Kavinya Vimalaharan
Dr Kalaipriya Pradeepan
45 students were screened that day. Except two students, all the other children were diagnosed with one or two or more diseases which are curable. Necessary follow up actions have been taken referring students to the appropriate clinics in the Batticaloa Teaching Hospital for further investigations and treatment.
